This is a very important way that we show our
love for our friends, for prayer really does change things and God is
merciful to all people in many ways.
Prayer is also a very important part of sharing the gospel with them. By
praying for them you are asking God to provide opportunities for you to
share your faith. By praying for them you are asking that God opens
their heart to the message, for only God's work can enable someone to
receive the gospel.
Moreover, regularly praying for our friends keeps us thinking about
them, indeed thinking about them from a spiritual point of view. As we
pray regularly for our friends, we often think of new ways to talk with
them further about the gospel.
It is an important part of our ministry at UTAS. The primary purpose of
all our Fellowship Groups is to pray for our non-Christian friends. I
hope you help us keep this focus in 2011. But you don't need a
Fellowship Group to pray. And I encourage you to being praying hard over
the summer months for your friends.
