Launch 2026 - The CROSS

Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? What did Jesus' death achieve? What does it mean to live a 'cross-shaped life'?

The Main Sessions

Tying together big ideas and exploring practical application

The morning sessions include conference community news, prayer, a short Bible reading, and a sermon.

Our evening sessions are fuller and longer with singing, conference spots and extra evening attendees who can't make it during the day.

Our preacher is Rowan Kemp (from Sydney University Evangelical Union) and his sermons will complement the teaching in the seminar groups.

These sermons are bigger than a youth group talk or the average church sermon—which is great, because it gives us more room to explore the awesome truths of the Bible and go into detail about common questions and practical applications.

Seminar Groups

The meaning of the cross.

Exploring in depth and hands on what the Bible says about our theme. The seminars lay down important foundations upon which you’ll be able to keep building a life of Christian loving, living and understanding. You'll be in a group of around 8–18 people with plenty of mixed interaction.

Speaking the Word Groups

Talking it out together

Speaking the Word groups give a unique opportunity to talk it out: how the gospel affects our lives. These small self-led groups of 3–5 people can meet in the venue, go for a walk or find a patch of sun as they chat through some discussion questions provided.

Evangelism & Mission Workshops

Getting informed and resourced

An opportunity to nurture your gifts and gain new skills and tips to help you to serve the gospel more thoughtfully, creatively and confidently. The elective workshops will be run by local church and ministry leaders.

Social Time

Organise your own adventure...

You're free to use this time as best serves you! There'll be a number of activities ideas join in on. But if you need some time out, that's cool too. We’ll get back all together for dinner.

Food

Lunch: DIY - Do It Yourself (apart from Thursday)

You might want to bring a leftover delicacy from home, ring ahead or pick up takeaway from nearby. Groups often head to a local park to eat and hang out. Our final main session, on Thursday, will take place over lunch, which will be provided.

Dinner: Tuesday & Wednesday evening

On Tuesday we'll have some delcious take out and on Wednesday the restaurant comes to us with an international flavour. This evening meal is sponsored by the Church Mission Society (CMS).
